I adore playing baby games with my one-year-old.
My son is so busy and he is always looking for new games to play with us. He particularly loves dropping objects into bowls and playing textured baby games. Our egg drop game was so simple to set up and he absolutely LOVED playing it!
My preschooler has been transferring plastic Easter eggs with tongs and my son wanted to get in on the fun, too. Since he can’t use tongs, I set up this game for him to play all on his own!
Materials for Egg Drop Baby Games
- Large, empty container
- Different sized plastic eggs
While the set-up is easy, my baby and I enjoyed playing this together before he knew how to play it on his own.
How to Play Egg Drop Baby Games
- Show baby how to drop an egg into the container
- Ask questions like, “Can you drop one inside?”
- Show them again until baby wants to try
- Keep playing and encouraging baby to drop the eggs!
Note: it can feel like your talking to yourself, but baby understands what you’re saying well before they can talk back!
He gained enough confidence to play this all on his own. He loved using the different sized eggs, too!
It was challenging for him to get the eggs out of the container! He tried putting his entire arm inside before I would help him dump the eggs out. He just could not resist playing these baby games!!
If you like baby activities, check out how we played these sound games using only one toy!
I could see my two year old still loving something like this!
Looks like fun!! I’ve got a (almost) one year old returning to my daycare and we’ll definitely be giving this a try!
Too cute!! Thanks for sharing at The Mommy Club Link Party!

How cute! I love this idea and we seem to have those plastic eggs around the house all year.
