I always need activities for my active baby!
My one-year-old is all over the place – in a good way. We joke that he loves to go to work. If you put something in front of him, he wants to practice, move it to another place in the house and then practice some more! These activities for babies are simple, but they will absolutely satiate baby’s need for engaging, active play.
Active Activities for Babies
Grab a container and watch as baby works on hand-eye-coordination and fine motor skills with this simple egg drop baby game (and, no, we don’t mean chicken eggs!)
Use something that we all have in the house to make textured art in the window. It’s so simple, but it’s an activity that different aged children can enjoy doing together.
Remember, active play does NOT have to be complicated. All you need is a great box and a little encouragement to play this simple baby game | Kids Activities Blog
After your done playing with that box, turn it into baby’s very own touch and feel board. They can stand and move as they touch and explore textures.
If you’re stuck inside or need a safe way for baby to climb and to move, build a soft obstacle course in the comfort of your own living room | Hands on: as we Grow
Take some recycled toilet paper rolls and transform them into an easy ball drop for exploration and play. Older siblings will love to get in on the fun, too.
Simple water play for baby can be such an engaging experience, but add a few balls and you have a whole afternoons worth of entertainment | Dirt and Boogers
All you need is a wicker basket to create a treasure basket for discovery. Active babies will love opening this door to find all the treasures kept inside | Nothing if Not Intentional
Baby pools just got a lot more fun when you add balls! If it nice weather, take this outside or bring the baby pool inside without the water | Learn, Play, Imagine
If you aren’t interested in having a ton of balls flying through your home, check out this creative way to keep babies entertained AND keep the ball contained | What Do We Do All Day?
Babies can drive off into the sunset with this engaging car sensory board. There are so many skills for baby to practice | And Next Comes L
