April has come to a quick close and it’s time to think about our monthly goals.
Our monthly goals from last month were focused on my kid’s birthday party. My daughter turned four and we just finished celebrating last weekend. It was a day that we were surround by wonderful friends and awesome family (while missing the ones who weren’t with us, too). There was a lot of love and celebrating with a sprinkling of reminiscing about my daughter’s first birthday, too – oh, how time flies.
As we start May of 2014, I can’t help but wonder – what changes will May bring?
We hit many of our monthly goals last month.
My husband and I aren’t big party throwers, but we somehow pulled this together for our kids (and, for us, too!). We were lucky to have our friends from the Wee Bee Jammies come and play their amazing music. If you want great music for kids (that you’ll want to sing along with, too) check them out <–they let you listen to their music for FREE or pay $1 per track!! Amazing!
So, lets get ready for next month!
Monthly Goals for May 2014
-
Slow Down
I know, it’s a hard goal to put your finger on, but we need to slow down and spend some time with each other. I took my kids to the beach today and just enjoyed being their instead of feeling like we had to “do” something. Being with each other, out in nature, is enough. (prioritize, connections)
-
Celebrate
In May, my husband and I have our own birthdays to celebrate. It’s a VERY big birthday for both of us, so I’m hoping that we will celebrate each other in a very FUN way instead of just letting it pass by. (prioritize, gratitude, connections)
-
Play
I want this month to be all about playing with our kids. Enjoying every little moment and spending quality time together through play. We made play dough ice cream tonight and played chase throughout the house, and the laughs from our kids were priceless – we need more of that 🙂 (gratitude, connections)
Our goals are simple for next month, but I know they will serve as wonderful reminders to celebrate family everyday.

I love that you want to play and slow down. I think I need to do some of that as well. Enjoy your birthday. I love celebrating birthdays even when it is my own.

Thanks so much, Cassie. I’ve realized how quickly my kids are growing and I think slowing down and turning to play is just what we need 🙂
