My firstborn slept well from the start, so I thought my second would sleep well too. It was an easy assumption to make, but boy was I wrong…
It took my son nearly 15 months before he started sleeping through the night. I know I’m not the only parent who’s been there.
When I went on vacation with my three month old baby in tow, I remember chatting with my cousin about sleeping as a new parent. She said, “When my baby wasn’t sleeping, I remember wanting to feel human again. Like an actual person, not a ‘mombie.'”
Those were my thoughts exactly.
I was so sleep deprived that I forgot what it felt like to wake up well rested and ready for the day. That’s why I love the video created by Womensforum.com and Huggies® OverNites Diapers sharing “Confessions Of Sleep-Deprived Parents”! !
Learning About The Power Of A Great Diaper
What we didn’t know is how much a diaper not only effects your baby’s sleep, but how much a diaper can affect your sleep as well. If your baby doesn’t sleep through the night, you won’t sleep through the night. Avoiding middle of the night diaper changes, that require a whole different level of awake and alertness, is key.
That’s why we were thrilled to find Huggies® OverNites Diapers.
- Huggies® OverNites Diapers are virtually leak free for up to 12 hours (plenty of time for a good night’s sleep).
- These diapers are able to handle a lot. My son is a “heavy wetter” and he wakes up with a very full diaper in the morning, but no leaks!
- They are extremely absorbent so my son (who has very sensitive skin) wakes up with healthy skin.
With our third baby on the way, these diapers will be the first thing that we buy for our son! Check out this video that shows how other parents have handled the dreaded dirty diaper (even when they’re sleep deprived!):
bucks county mom says
The term ‘sleep like a baby’ is a misnomer. Because, babies don’t sleep all night. At least none of my did. The good news is, this phase doesn’t last forever. Before you know it, they sleep all night and you get caught up too. Don’t blink!
